Mission Statement: 

The mission and purpose of this association shall be to promote professional growth and communication by sharing ideas, methods, and current research in the area of school psychology and related disciplines. Additionally, work and support changes in local, state, and federal policy and legislation, which are in the best interest of children, child development, and mental health.

President:

Job Responsibilities:  

Be a current, good standing member of OSPA
Preside over all meetings of NEOSPA and of the Executive Board
Appoint regional members to OSPA committees
Represent NEOSPA on necessary occasions or appoint a designee
In the absence of the Treasurer, pay all bills as approved by the Executive Board
Attendance at the OSPA Conference and any events is encouraged
Maintain the President’s electronic binder by keeping it current
Assist in the maintenance of the NEOSPA website
Apply for MCE credits if applicable (once every two years)
Other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Board

Treasurer:

Job Responsibilities:  

Be a current, good standing member of OSPA
Serve as collector and custodian of all monies associated with NEOSPA
Send to the Secretary a list of those members paying dues
Pay all bills as approved by the Executive Board
Maintain and pass on accurate records to the succeeding Treasurer
Provide membership cards for all members have them signed by the President
Maintain the Treasurer’s binder by keeping it up to date
Other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Board

Secretary:

Job Responsibilities:  

Be a current, good standing member of OSPA
Be responsible for recording the minutes of the Executive Board meetings
Make available past meeting minutes available upon request from the membership
Keep a database of member information
Attend to all official correspondence for NEOSPA
Notify members of upcoming meetings of NEOSPA
Maintain and pass on accurate records to the succeeding Secretary
Other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Board

OSPA Representative:

Job Responsibilities:  

Be current, good standing members of OSPA
Abide by guidelines set forth in the OSPA constitution for this position
Attend OSPA board meetings, typically representing four events per year
Take notes at the OSPA board meetings and update the Executive Committee via electronic correspondence about points of business that impact school psychology in Ohio
Contribute summaries to the NEOSPA newsletter and website regarding OSPA business
Provide updates to members during NEOSPA meetings regarding OSPA news
Vote on key issues, reflecting the point of view of NEOSPA membership, during OSPA Executive Board meetings
Identify a proxy if the representative is unable to attend a meeting
Attend NEOSPA Executive Board meetings
Other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Board

Public Relations Chair:  

Job Responsibilities:  

Be current, good standing members of OSPA
Be responsible for maintaining online and social media accounts
Work with the Presidential Trio to update information (social media and website)
Create advertisements for upcoming events
Be responsible for organizing donations for the fall OSPA raffle
It is encouraged that they serve on the OSPA PR and Community Service Committee
Other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Board
